Three people were arrested for carrying out this illegal activity
In compliance with the Ayacucho Campaign Plan, soldiers of Colombian National Army, found and destroy elements used for the illicit exploitation of mineral resources in the Northeast subregion of the department of Antioquia.
The military operation took place in the village of Otu, in the municipality of Remedios, where the soldiers of the Fourteenth Brigade, together with officials of the National Police, arrested three people who were carrying out this illegal activity. A backhoe, three dredgers and six engines were in the same way seized. With the destruction of these elements, the illegal activities of organized criminal groups are hit for about 108 million pesos.
In the same way, it was possible to reduce the environmental impact on two square hectares with an approximate cost of 300 million pesos, in which there is evidence of deforestation of approximately 1600 trees, which will have a recovery time of 20 to 30 years.
Those arrested and the material found were put into custody of the authorities for their respective prosecution process.
