The operation led to the arrest of a man, allegedly the ringleader of this structure, known by the alias El Diablo, and to find war material and military accessories.
In the Bruselas village of the municipality of Pitalito, the coordinated operation conducted by troops of the Magdalena Battalion of the Ninth Brigade and the Huila Police, led to neutralize the plans of the Residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, to intimidate the inhabitants in order to press for the payment of money through extortion and generate anxiety.
As part of the search procedure, the Military Forces managed to arrest the alleged ringleader in flagrante delicto, as well as find uniforms for the exclusive use of the Military Forces, pixelated bandanas and scarves, pamphlets alluding to the illegal armed structure, a traumatic pistol, a magazine, 17 cartridges of different calibers, a GL–307 grenade and a cell phone.
The military operation was possible thanks to the intelligence and investigative efforts that led to the raid, demonstrating the effectiveness of the coordinated work that results in damage to the finances of the residual organized armed group and in a message of tranquility to the inhabitants, knowing that the soldiers are working tirelessly to increase the security of the Huila department of territory.
