Within the framework of the Ayacucho Plus Plan, troops of the Cundinamarca Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group), attached to the Thirteenth Brigade of Colombian National Army, in coordination with the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Attorney General's Office la Naci贸n, arrested in the city of Villavicencio, the alleged ringleader of an organized crime group specializing in the trafficking of weapons, ammunition and explosives, apparently used to extort merchants of the departments of Meta and Cundinamarca.
After months of investigative and intelligence work, Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) commandos and the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) officials arrested the individual in a raid carried out in the capital city of Meta department, and put him into custody of of the judicial authority.
This procedure is part of an operation against criminal structures specialized in the purchase and sale of weapons destined for other criminal organizations that attack the life and good physical condition of Colombians.
So far in 2025, the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the 13th Brigade has made 22 arrests, 5 of them for firearms trafficking; 6, for extortion; 6, for kidnapping, and 5, for other crimes. In addition, it has found 6 long- and short-range firearms, 136 cartridges and 10 magazines.
In this way, the troops of the Thirteenth Brigade, unit of the Fifth Division of Colombian National Army, reaffirm their commitment to citizen security in the center of the country.
