Army and Prosecutor's Office dismantle the organized crime group Los Látex, in Bogotá

Ejército y Fiscalía desarticulan el grupo de delincuencia

Within the framework of Colombian National Army's Ayacucho Plus Plan, troops of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the Thirteenth Brigade, in coordination with the Attorney General's Office, arrested four alleged members of the organized crime group known as Los Látex by judicial order.

Those arrested were wanted for the crimes of coercion for extortion purposes, association to commit crimes, theft by computer means and violation of personal data.

The operation was made possible thanks to the timely denunciation of the citizens, as well as several months of military intelligence work and the investigative work carried out by the Prosecutor's Office.

The arrests were made in the localities of Usme, Puente Aranda, Bosa and Kennedy, in Bogotá.

Through this result of the military operation, the troops of the 13th Brigade heavily hit the illegal activities of the criminal structures that commit crimes in the center of the country and reaffirm their commitment to the security of the inhabitants of Bogotá and Cundinamarca.

The Military Gaula invites citizens to report any case of extortion or kidnapping through the national toll-free line 147, within the framework of the I don't pay, I denounce campaign.
