Troops of the Seventh Brigade and the National Police continue to weaken the illegal armed groups that commit crimes in the department of Meta and intend to strike the tranquility in the region.
This time, in the Alto de Tillavá village of the municipality of Puerto Gaitán, Meta, troops of the Special Energy and Roads Battalion No. 15 made effective the arrest by judicial order of alias Gordo Mecánico, who would be a member of the support networks for residual structures of the Residual Organized Armed Group, Structure 39 Arcesio Niño.
This individual, 30 years old, is accused of directing the collection of money from extortion against to farmers, ranchers and merchants, in the rural part of the towns, including villages such as Puerto Triunfo and Puerto Trujillo.
He is in the same way being investigated for the use of indigenous communities in the area to carry out disturbances of law and order. In addition, he provided criminal intelligence made on the Military Forces. Part of his criminal experience was obtained as a member of the Bolivarian E-10 Militias and the Urban Militias.
At the time of the arrest, alias Gordo Mecánico had with him a pistol, magazines, cartridges and 11 million pesos in cash.
