A military control operation led to the detection of an illegal cargo that was planned to go unnoticed along the roads of southern Huila.
In the framework of search and control operations, troops of the Infantry Battalion N.27 Magdalena, of the Ninth Brigade, in coordination with the Traffic and Transport Police, reported arrested in flagrante delicto an individual who was transporting more than a ton of marijuana in a truck-type vehicle, using the modality of concealment in cold room panels.
The operation took place in the village of El Mármol, municipality of Isnos, department of Huila, where the units were maintaining a checkpoint. During the procedure, the members of the Military Forces stopped the car to carry out a thorough examination, in which the soldiers identified on the panels of the cold room a vegetable substance that, due to its physical characteristics, color, smell and appearance, corresponds to marijuana.
The arrested person must answer for his alleged participation in the crime of carrying and manufacturing narcotics.
This result represents an important loss to the illicit activities of the Residual Hernando González Acosta Organized Armed Group, of approximately $2,173,500,000, weakening its financial and logistical capacity for the continuation of criminal activities in the region.
1,449 kilograms of marijuana, a truck-type vehicle and a cell phone were found by troops at the scene, which, along with the arrested man, were put into custody of the judicial authority.
