The environmental corporation Corpocaldas, confirmed the environmental damage caused by the explosions, resulting in the displacement of wild animals and the modification of the vegetation of the El Hoyo stream, in the village of San Luis, of Anserma, Caldas.

In the execution of the Ayacucho Plan and in the Pedro Pascasio Martínez Operation, the National Army, the Anti-Mining Brigade of the Carabineros Police, the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Attorney General's Office and the environmental corporation Corpocaldas, found a sector of the village of San Luis, in Anserma, Caldas, which was the object of illicit exploitation of mining deposits through the use of explosive material; they also arrested an individual who allegedly engaged this illegal activity.

It is thanks to the denunciations of the people that it was possible to obtain the finding of the site, where an illegal mining production unit was found, with elements used in the extraction of the mineral in the El Hoyo stream.

In the same way, by means of a judicial order, a house 150 meters from the sinkhole was raided and explosives material was seized, which were apparently used to carry out this problem against the environment; it is there that an individual is arrested for the crime of manufacturing, trafficking and carrying weapons, ammunition for the exclusive use of the Military Forces or explosives.

After the inspection of the property, an industrial compressor, an air extractor, a unit of rudimentary explosive, safety fuse, granulated substances known as Nutrimom, a container with mercury and an electronic scale, material valued at 80,000,000 COP, were found by troops.

The items found and the arrested one were put into custody of the authority.

With this result, it was possible to reduce the environmental impact on one hectare that has hit its vegetation layer and prevent unscrupulous people from continuing to pollute this water tributary, which requires specialized environmental work for an estimated time of 10 to 15 years and an approximate of 250,000,000 COP.

In this way, we restore tranquility to the people who inhabit this sector of the municipality of Anserma, we prevent environmental damage and a public health problem caused by indiscriminate water pollution.

The National Army, hand in hand with the institutions, will continue to attack this problem against the environment, which hits the natural ecosystems of the department of Caldas so hard.
