Soldiers of the High Mountain Battalion No. 5, attached to the Eighth Brigade, within the framework of military operations, continue to attack the problem of drug trafficking in the department of Quindío, through permanent checkpoints on this important road axis that contacts with the center of the country.
This is how the troops of this Unit, while conducting routine tasks, checking the vehicles traveling through the sector, made the "stop" signal to an interdepartmental bus, which came of the city of Cali, Valle del Cauca.
The soldiers verified the identity of the travelers, and, when inspecting the hold of the car, they found 5 packages of different sizes containing 30 airtight bags, which, after their review, the authority determined that it was 15 kilograms of marijuana, so the hallucinogen was immediately found and a 26-year-old woman, who would be the one transporting the drug, was arrested.
After this, the marijuana and the arrested person were put into custody of to the authority for their prosecution process.
