In the frame of the permanent and continuous operations that the National Army has been carrying out, the threat of six members of the Residual Organized Armed Group, GAO, Structure 36, in the department of Antioquia, was neutralized.
The operation, which was carried out in coordination with the National Police, led to the neutralization in military operations of the individuals known as alias Alex谩nder, accused of being the third ringleader of the GAO-r E-36 and current ringleader of the Jefferson Mart铆nez company; as well as alias Pepe or Pastuso, who would be the financial ringleader of the criminal group.
In the same operation, alias Cantalio, accused of being the second ringleader of the Jefferson Mart铆nez company, alias Veneco and alias Alejandro, were arrested. It was in the same way possible to recover a minor, who was put into custody of the Colombian Family Wellbeing Institute (ICBF) for the immediate restoration of her rights.
In the course of the military operation were in the same way found 5 rifles, 3 pistols, more than 1,500 cartridges of different calibres, magazines, explosives, as well as material of military accessories and communications equipment of exclusive use of the Military Forces.
According to the authorities, alias Alex谩nder would have been in the illegal organization for approximately four years and would be perpetrating extortion and threatening traders in the region, while serving as a liaison with the GAO-r E18, to combat the GAO Clan del Golfo and manage drug trafficking routes and the illicit exploitation of mining sites.
In the same way, this individual is accused of murdering a former FARC combatant and her sister, in events that occurred last January, in the municipality of Brice帽o.
On the other hand, alias Pepe or Pastuso would have been responsible for the incineration of a helicopter of a civil company, on June 23, 2018, in a rural area of the municipality of Toledo.
He is accused of several attacks on the Military Forces, including the murder of a soldier, on May 2, 2018, in a rural area of the municipality of Brice帽o.
With this important result, the command and control of this criminal structure has been hit, and its finances and capacity to commit terrorist operations against the Military Forces and the inhabitants of the region have been weakened.
