Army destroyed gigantic drug production complex of the Eln in the department of Norte de Santander

Norte de Santander. In recent hours, men of the Anti-Drug Squad destroyed a coca-growing complex that produced more than a ton of drugs a week. The structures were valued at more than 4,600 million pesos and belonged to the Organized Armed Group Eln.

In the framework of the 'Victoria Plus' Campaign Plan, the Anti-Drug Squad, the Army Aviation, Vulcano Task Force troops, the Air Force and the National Police, destroyed a gigantic drugs production complex, in rural areas of La Gabarra municipality, Tibú municipality in Norte de Santander. This complex had two laboratories to produce coca base paste, a cocaine hydrochloride laboratory, a potassium permanganate refinery, three hideouts, one for storing fuel and another for precursors. In the same way, an illegal refinery was found. It generated irreparable environmental damage to the flora and fauna along with petroleum and chemicals that were poured into the soil and water sources.

This gigantic complex was valued at more than 4,600 million pesos. In the place troops found 1677 kilos of coca base paste, 1,175 kilos of coca leaf, 7,525 gallons of liquid precursors, 1,622 kilos of solid precursors, 5,081 gallons of fuel, three pistols 9 millimeters, 88 cartridges of the same caliber, four magazines and various elements used to produce alkaloids. This blow to the ELN represents significant losses to its finances and logistical structures that support their criminal operations.
