Army destroys gas cylinder loaded with explosives in Saravena, Arauca

Thanks to the timely and rapid reaction of the troops, it was possible to recover the mobility on the road axis that connects the municipality of Saravena to Fortul.

Arauca. In military operations, troops of the Quiron Task Force, through the Eighteenth Brigade, managed to neutralize under controlled conditions a cylinder-type device, with 40 kilograms of explosive material, which was on the road axis that connects the municipality of Saravena to Fortul, in the department of Arauca.

Thanks to the timely action of the Group of Explosions and Demolitions, EXDE DELTA of the National Army, it was possible to destroy the gas cylinder loaded with explosives under controlled conditions, thus preventing a new terrorist operation by the ELN, whose sole purpose was to attempt against the life of the community members that reside in and go through that place.

The troops will continue to be committed to operations to protect the civilian population, while rejecting this type of operations and the use of these unconventional methods of war, which are a clear violation of the Geneva Protocol and International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights. Similarly, they call on the community to promptly report in the nationwide toll-free 146 - 147 any irregular situation.
