Army dismantles hiding place with 40 anti-personnel mines in rural area of Argelia, in Cauca

The explosive material would belong to illegal armed groups, with these explosives the inhabitants of this area of the department were put at risk.

 

 

 

 

 

In the course of military operations, troops of the Cauca Specific Command found an illegal hideout containing 40 anti-personnel mines and five unexploded ordnance units in the village of Puerto Rico, rural area of Argelia, south of the department.

 

 

 

 

 

According to information, this explosive material would belong to the Carlos Patiño dissidents, which is used to attack civilians and troops carrying out military operations in the south of the department. As for the unexploded ordnance, it would be five 40 mm grenade-type explosive devices, the.

 

 

 

 

 

After the finding, the explosive material was destroyed in controlled conditions by the Explosions and Demolitions group, EXDE, in accordance with the stipulated security protocols and maintaining the necessary techniques and tactics to safeguard the life condition of the people and the troops. In the same way, two anti-personnel mines were found in other military operations.

 

 

 

 

 

The National Army, through this military unit, continues to coordinate operations with local, departmental and national authorities that lead to work to raise the good life condition and tranquility of the inhabitants in the rural areas of the municipality of Argelia, hit by the criminal operations of the residual armed structures.
