Two men were arrested for the alleged crime of trafficking, manufacturing and carrying narcotics.
The military interception operations against drug trafficking led the Ninth Brigade, through the troops of the Pigoanza Battalion and the Light Cavalry Group No. 6, in an operation coordinated with the National Police, to find 82 kilos of marijuana.
The Military Forces operating on the roads, this time on the I-24 highway, in the municipality of Paicol, made the stop signal to two individuals who were traveling suspiciously in a private vehicle. Troops found in a thorough search, several packages of the illicit substance wrapped in plastic.
As it was possible to establish, the narcotic, would cost $32,000,000 COP, would be destined for municipalities in the west of the department and the interior of the country, where its value would double.
Colombian National Army continues to work in the fight against drug trafficking, and reaffirms its determination to protect Colombians of the devastating effects of narcotics. Every kilo of marijuana found is a victory against crime and another step towards a safer future.
