The judicial procedures were carried out by the Sijín in San José del Guaviare, and the elements were destroyed following environmental protocols.
Interception work carried out in the framework of military operations led the troops of the Rainforest Brigade N.° 22 to find and disable a construction used for the production of coca base paste that had been suitable in a rustic way in the sector known as Puerto Nare, municipality of Miraflores, department of Guaviare. This military operation against illegal activities was carried out thanks to information obtained from intelligence and provided by the inhabitants.
In the clandestine construction that produced 15 kilograms of coca base paste per month, the soldiers found 55 gallons of pressed coca leaf, 25 kilograms of lime, 7 55-gallon plastic barrels with chopped coca leaf, a coca leaf press, a container with 55 gallons of DIESEL and, among other items, liquids used in the manufacture of the drug.
The finding of this coca laboratory significantly counteracts the drug trafficking chain in southeastern Colombia, and is a serious blow to illicit activities, so it generates monthly losses of 30 million pesos; it in the same way contributes to the protection of the environment in the Amazon region.
The 22nd Rainforest Brigade continues within the framework of military operations aligned to the four strategic objectives of the Ayacucho Plan, with the purpose of neutralizing the factors of instability generated by illegal armed groups that attack the security of communities and natural resources.
