Colombian military, the civil authorities, the National Police and the Risk Management Unit evacuated people of the sector in a preventive manner.
As part of stability operations, our soldiers, experts in explosives and demolitions, destroyed in controlled conditions an improvised explosive device that had been installed on the El Limón neighborhood, municipality of Tibú, Department of Norte de Santander.
The military secured the area and after making the corresponding verifications proceeded to use the necessary techniques and tactics to neutralize the explosive, without generating blows to civilians, construction and troops.
According to the first reports, this device would be left in the area to sow terror and anxiety in the community, as well as to hit the growth and development of the region, flagrantly violating human rights and violating the norms of international humanitarian law.
In the municipality of Tibú, an extraordinary security council was in the same way held with the authorities and control institutions, to denounce this action that disturbs the safety and well-being of the people of the municipality.
Our soldiers continue to conduct operations in the area to contribute to the security of the region.
