More than 100 students participated in this vaccination activity in which they received the first dose of the vaccine Pfizer.

As an initiative to facilitate the access to the process of vaccination against COVID-19 of young people over the age of 12 years, the department of Health, Army, through the Medical Center of the North, held an activity of inoculation for the students of the Liceo Patria, in the capital city of the country which receives the children of officers and non-commissioned officers of the National Army, as well as of Military Forces.

This activity that had the participation of more than 100 students leads to achieve the goals established within the vaccination process in an efficient and comfortable way for young people and their parents or caregivers. In order to achieve this objective, this health center set up two vaccination points in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection.

Following these guidelines, the young people of this school received the vaccines of the Pfizer laboratory in accordance with the indications of the Vaccine Committee and the National Institute for Drug and Food Surveillance (Invima).

It is important to note that to date more than 65 percent of active military have already received doses of immunization against the virus, being implemented more than 460 thousand vaccines in the Military Forces. The vaccination process leads to a reduction in the risk of exposure to infection among members of the Force, as well as mitigation and containment of the virus in military units.

These vaccination activities within the school will continue in accordance with the availability and distribution of vaccines by the District Health Secretariat in the coming days, at the same time that they will be replicated in Military Health establishments in other regions of the country, guaranteeing the well-being of users of the Health Subsystem of the Military Forces and their families.
