The Army hits again drugs trafficking in the limits of Huila and Cauca

In operations carried out in the municipality of Páez, Cauca.

 

Cauca. Ten thousand illicit plantations eradicated and a rudimentary coca base paste laboratory destroyed, are the results that in the last hours are reported in the frame of the operations conducted against drug trafficking by soldiers of the Ninth Brigade.

 

In the village of La Ceja, in the municipality of Páez, in the department of Cauca, the troops of the Infantry Battalion No. 26 'Cacique Pigoanza' found a complete coca base paste laboratory, that contained eight 55 gallon barrels loaded with fuel, two tanks of 500 liters and 30 fabric big bags with coca leaf, 250 kilos of lime, nine sacks of cement, two motor pumps and a hose of more than 180 meters, and other elements used in the production of narcotics.

 

The laboratory, which had an area of ​​almost 150 square meters, was destroyed by the soldiers, damaging the finances of the drug trafficking networks and armed groups that commit crimes in the department of Cauca and use the border zone with Huila as a route of mobility.

 

The military operation ends with the eradication of one hectare equivalent to ten thousand coca plants, in the hamlet El Cajón of the same municipality, decreasing and attacking on the expansion of these illegal groups.
