Within the framework of the Ayacucho Plus Plan, troops of the Cundinamarca Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the 13th Brigade of Colombian National Army and of the Cundinamarca Gaula of the National Police, with the support of the National Penitentiary Institute, INPEC, carried out a special intervention in La Pola prison, in Guaduas, department of Cundinamarca.
In the inter-institutional operation, 23 cell phones, 15 SIM cards, 50 battery chargers and 37 cell phone accessories were found by troops, which according to information collected by intelligence efforts, would be used to make extortion calls to merchants in the center of the country.
According to the investigations, under this modality known as prison call, people deprived of liberty apparently posed as different criminal structures to put pressure on merchants in Bogot谩 and municipalities near the city, to obtain extortion payments.
Similarly, the members of the Military Forces found 25 sharp-edged weapons, 200 narcotic ballots, one precision scale, 150 household appliances, 10 radios and 200,000 pesos in cash.
With the dismantling of this extortive call center, the illegal finances of criminal structures that commit crimes in Bogot谩 and Cundinamarca are hit.
