Army prevented indiscriminate logging of native forest and captured three people

In one of the military operations, it was possible to counteract the production of 5.9 kilos of coca base paste, valued at 3268 US dollars, or 4.8 kilos of coca hydrochloride, valued at 7238 US dollars.

In military operations in the framework of the Bicentenary Plan Heroes of Freedom, the National Army troops find and destroy a seedbed with 50,000 coca plants.

The seedlings were found by soldiers of the Twenty-Second Jungle Brigade in Golondrinas village, El Retorno municipality, in the department of Guaviare.

This seedbed would be favoring the finances of the Residual Organized Armed Group, First Structure, which commits crimes in this region of the country. With this achievement, indiscriminate logging of 6.25 hectares of native forest was prevented. This finding led to stop the production of coca base paste by more than 90 million pesos.

On the other hand, troops of Infantry Battalion No. 19 General Joaquin Paris captured three people in the village of Guarupayas, municipality of Puerto Concordia, in the department of Meta, at the time that trees were being felled illegally, damaging the flora and wildlife of the region.

The individuals were put into custody of the authorities and will be prosecuted for the crime of illegal use of renewable natural resources.
