Army prevents terrorist action with the controlled destruction of explosive devices in rural area of Jamundí

Ejército evita acción terrorista con la destrucción controlada de artefactos explosivos hallados en zona rural de Jamundí

These explosives were aimed at the inhabitants and passers-by of the sector and at the members of the Military Forces.

In the sector of the village of La Esperanza, in the rural area of Jamundí, troops of the High Mountain Battalion No. 3 of the Third Brigade broke up two banners alluding to the Residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Jaime Martínez.

During the review process, the road was closed, in order to work safely, which in the same way enabled the finding of three improvised rudimentary munitions of improvised explosive devices, gas cylinder type, containing high-power charges that were hidden underground near the place.

With the installation of these devices, it was planned to carry out a terrorist action aimed at the troops who were carrying out the dismantling of the propaganda elements, but in the same way against the inhabitants and passers-by who travel through the sector daily.

Once again, the soldiers thwart the terrorist acts of this residual organized armed group, whose criminal acts endanger the integrity of the inhabitants of the rural area of Jamundí, however, the offensive operations are constant in their in the area of operations to counteract this type of criminal acts.

The Third Brigade will continue to use all its resources for the well-being, tranquility and security of the communities of Jamundí and south of the department of Valle.
