Army prevents terrorist attack of the Eln in a route in the department of Arauca

In recent hours the National Army carried out several military operations supported by the civic participation network, where it was possible to find and destroy in the department of Arauca, two devices loaded with 70 kilos of explosives, which were intended to be used to carry out different terrorist operations in this area of ​​the country.

 

The devices were planted by the terrorists of the Domingo Laín Sáenz Front, of the Camilo Cien Fuegos Group of the GAO Eln, at two points of the La Soberanía route. Every day there more than 1,200 people travel along this road, connecting the urban area of Arauquita and they Municipality La Pesquera; tourists, students, peasants, all the community and troops of the National Army, could be hit by this terrorist operation.

 

The military operations were carried out in Las Acacias and Las Bancas, where troops found two containers, one plastic and another metallic loaded with 20 and 50 kilos of explosive respectively ready to be activated by radiofrequency and control cable.

 

During 2019, 1,879 explosive devices have been destroyed in the border department, planted by the Organized Armed Groups that have increased the use of these illicit methods of war to indiscriminately hit the civilian population and the Security forces.
