cogfm-ejc-evita-accion-terrorista-al-destruir-cerca-de-dos-toneladas-de-explosivos.jpeg

In 30 sacks, 1700 kilograms of anfo were found by troops, with which it was intended to attack civilians and Military Forces.

Troops of the Aviation Division of Air Assault, in support of the Second Division of the Army, and in an interinstitutional way with the Attorney General's Office, found 1.7 tons of ammonium nitrate grade anfo, a high-power explosive derived from petroleum, which would be used to carry out terrorist operations during the elections.

The material was in the El Talento neighborhood, an urban area of Cúcuta, Norte de Santander, where units of the Command against Drug Trafficking and Transnational Threats found an illegal hideout that would belong to the residual organized armed group Structure 33.

It is important to clarify that with just 25 kilograms of this explosive, the complete destruction of a house could be caused, which would generate collateral damage of up to 50 meters around.

According to military intelligence, it was intended to condition some vehicles with this material to later be detonated.

No arrests were made at the scene and the material was put into custody of the authorities to be destroyed under controlled conditions.
