Army, Prosecutor's Office and Police arrested three individuals for drug trafficking

br8.jpg

As part of the Ayacucho Campaign Plan, soldiers of the Infantry Battalion No. 22 Batalla de Ayacucho of the Eighth Brigade of Colombian National Army, in coordination with the Police and the Attorney General's Office, through a prosecutor attached to the Specialized Directorate against Drug Trafficking, arrested three individuals who allegedly formed a criminal structure that would obtain narcotics in Corinto (Cauca), to then commercialize them in Manizales (Caldas), La Pintada and Itagüí (Antioquia) and Chachagüí (Nariño) .

The military operation that was carried out together with the National Police took place in the municipalities of Miranda (Cauca), Chinchiná and Manizales (Caldas).

The modus operandi of this illegal organization began with the theft of vehicles that were later used to transport and market the narcotics. This organized gang was harming young people and adults in the aforementioned municipalities, through the distribution of hallucinogenic substances, reaching neighborhoods and schools.

After unified operation investigation work, the authorities collected enough information that would link the individuals to at least seven criminal events committed by October 2020 and February 2023.

As part of these operations, the authorities found 1,747 kilograms of marijuana and 8.52 kilograms of cocaine; in the same way, those arrested were put into custody of the Prosecutor's Office for the crimes of association to commit crimes for the purposes of drug trafficking and trafficking, manufacture or transportation of narcotics.
