cogfm-ejercito-incautacion-cable-de-cobre-puerto-lopez-meta-25.jpeg

This material was of the municipality of Puerto Gaitán, Meta, and has an estimated cost of 70 million pesos. The theft of copper hits petroleum production and the economy of the region.

Within the framework of the Ayacucho Plan, through military operations, troops of the Serviez Battalion No.20, Navy Infantry and Highway Police, made the finding of 1,674 kilograms of copper cable, at a checkpoint in the populated center of Pachaquiaro, municipality of Puerto López, Meta, kilometer 53, on the road that leads to the city of Villavicencio.

The copper cable was transported in a truck, which carried 33 sacks, where the copper cable was.

The troops proceed to verify the documentation proving the corresponding permits and legality of the transported material, a requirement that was not successful.

The material was put into custody of the Police of Puerto López, Meta, for safekeeping and review.
