Army soldiers contribute to the development of Tumaco

The neighborhood Más Familias in Acción, in the municipality of Tumaco, in the department of Nariño, is made up of 95% Afro-Colombian population in situation of forced displacement.

Nariño. The National Army, in fulfillment of its mission, seeks to bring development and progress to this region of the country, generating progress in the implementation of projects that contribute to the improvement of the living conditions of the community.

Through the Hercules Task Force and with the support of the Comprehensive action and Development Battalion nº.3, different activities were carried out with 250 families in this neighborhood, such as: A sports day, distribution of school kits, improvement of several streets of the place, improvement of the sports field and most importantly, the improvement of the access to drinking water through two tanker trucks so that the people in Tumaca, who live in this region of the municipality, improve their living conditions.

Cristian Angulo, resident of the place, said: "We had a visit of the National Army, which provided us with school elements and helped us with the arrival of drinking water to improve the life of the community."

Similarly, Juan Carlos Cortés, who in the same way lives in the neighborhood Más Familias in Acción, said: "Young people are seeing the Military Forces here, they feel happy, we are all happy with what you are bringing us and mainly with Your support related to water, I thank you very much. "

In this way, we seek to strengthen the community integration and generate meetings with the Community action Board and local leaders of the neighborhood to work on plans that bring progress to the inhabitants of Tumaco. We are Comprehensive action.
