As part of military operations, soldiers of Colombian National Army found and neutralized in controlled conditions an area prepared with explosives on the La Serenata sector, municipality of Tibú, in the department of Norte de Santander.
Thanks to intelligence information, the military had knowledge of what would be an area prepared with explosives, so they arrived at the place.
Following the protocols, at the Command of the Combat Engineer Battalion No. 30, coordination was carried out with the civil authorities and the people to take the inhabitants away from the houses near the area, protecting and safeguarding their life conditions.
After the review, troops destroyed the explosive devices in controlled way that, apparently, would have an activation method by command cable.
Parallel to this, the energy company made a pause in the service while the operation was being conducted, so that in case of an adjacent damage it would be solved once the operation was finished.
In this way, our soldiers continue to execute operations that provide security to the people in Norte de Santander.
