Army's fast reaction saved soldier's life on the department of Meta

Rápida reacción de Ejército salvó vida de soldado en el Meta

The member of the Military Forces was participating in territorial control operations in Mapiripán when he was bitten by a snake.

National Army troops, in a rapid military operation coordinated with the Air Assault Aviation Division, successfully evacuated in a military aircraft a soldier who suffered a venomous snake bite, in rural area of the department of Meta.

The action was reported in the Rincón del Indio sector, municipality of Mapiripán, once they realized what had happened, the combat nurse approached to give him first aid, while he was taken out of the area in order to save his life.

The prompt reaction and the effective medical assistance led him to receive timely specialized assistance at the Medical Dispensary of Oriente, in Apiay, Villavicencio. The medical personnel report that the soldier is under observation and he is out of danger.

Colombian National Army ratifies its commitment to safeguarding the lives of the members of the institution, who, with vocation, carry out the Ayacucho Campaign Plan in the territories.
