In compliance with the Perseo Plan, the Military Forces detained these individuals, who, apparently, would carry out criminal intelligence to conduct criminal operations.

In decisive operations to mitigate the factors of instability, in three military operations by the units of the Joint Task Force Hercules and thanks to the joint, coordinated and inter-institutional work, alias Brujo and alias Kiko alleged squad ringleaders of the residual Organized Armed Group Iván Ríos structure and seven other individuals were arrested in rural Tumaco, Nariño.

Thanks to military and police intelligence work in the Candelillas village, troops of the Rapid Deployment Battalion No.5, the criminal investigation and interpol section of the Tumaco district and through a search warrant ordered by the Prosecutor's Office, alias el Brujo, alias Kiko and an individual were arrested, who had arrest warrants in force for the crimes of manufacturing, trafficking and carrying weapons and restricted use ammunition for the exclusive use of the Military Forces.

Alias el Brujo and alias Kiko, apparently, were those who conducted criminal intelligence, on members of the Military Forces, to carry out a so called Pistol Plan for the execution of selective murders of the inhabitants of the village Candelilla, Palo Seco, Zabaleta, Pueblo Nuevo, la Espriella and el Gualtal where this group have criminal interference.

In the second river operation in the Candelilla de la Mar village, the Military Forces arrested two individuals, alleged members of the GAO Urías Rondón, who were traveling in a speedboat with 327 gallons of Ecuadorian gasoline.

In the same way, in the third military and police operation, in accordance with the Tumaco Seguro operational plan, four individuals were arrested in flagrante delicto, who had their war material power. These individuals must answer for the crime of manufacturing, trafficking, carrying or possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition.

During the operations, a speedboat, an outboard motor, a hand grenade, explosives, ammunition, communications equipment and 327 gallons of Ecuadorian gasoline were found by troops.

The material found and the arrested were put into custody of the authorities for their respective prosecution.

With this result, the Hercules Joint Stabilization and Consolidation Task Force ratifies the commitment to ensure the security and tranquility of the inhabitants of the Nariño Pacific region, working jointly, coordinated and interinstitutional with the different institutions, in order to weaken the organized armed groups that commit crimes to the southwest of the country.
