In a joint effort, troops of the 26th Infantry Battalion of the Ninth Brigade, the 6th Light Cavalry Group and units of the Huila Police once again neutralized the attempts of the drug trafficking networks to use the roads of Huila as a route for the transit of narcotics.
Through a checkpoint in the Panorama village of the municipality of La Plata, Huila, the coordinated operation of the Military Forces led to the search of a couple who were traveling by motorcycle, transporting two bags; due to the search, approximately 20 kilos of marijuana were found by troops.
This shipment, whose value in the illicit market amounts to 8 million pesos, was allegedly obtained in the department of Cauca, and was destined for the western municipalities of Huila, where it was divided into approximately 40,000 doses, thus tripling its original value.
The couple was arrested for the alleged crime of trafficking, manufacturing and carrying narcotics, and was put into custody of the authority for the judicial process.
This operation reaffirms the commitment of the authorities in the fight against drug trafficking, working to increase the security of the communities of the department of Huila.
