This finding prevented the distribution of 153,716 doses of marijuana and the entry of six million dollars to FARC dissidents.
In a maritime interception operation carried out by units of the Colombian Navy in the area known as Bocas De Singuscado, in Valle del Cauca, a vessel manned by four Nicaraguans was intercepted, attempting to transport the narcotic to storage points in Central America.
The operation was carried out during the night when a Rapid Reaction Unit from the Buenaventura Coast Guard Station and a vessel from the Pacific surface Flotilla were carrying out sea control tasks and detected the suspicious movement of a vessel manned by four men who attempted to evade the controls. After several minutes of pursuit under difficult visibility conditions, the vessel was intercepted by the Rapid Reaction Unit.
During the inspection, inside the boat members of the security forces were able to identify two compartments that served to hide 432 gallons of fuel and several bags of different colors that contained 926 rectangular packets of drugs-like substances.
The men, the boat and the sacks were taken to Buenaventura, where the approved preliminary identification test was performed, which left positive result for 926 kilograms of cannabis.
After verifying the state of health of the arrested persons, they were put into custody of the Technical Investigation Unit (Cuerpo T茅cnico de Investigaci贸n - CTI) of the prosecutor's office, and will be held responsible for the crime of trafficking, manufacturing or carrying narcotics.
