Alias Yoyo or Motorraton, accused of coordinating hitmen acts and strengthening the criminal acts of the GAO Clan del Golfo in the south of the department of Cesar.
As part of the military operations aimed at weakening the criminal structures that affect the security of the northeast of the country, troops of the Fifth Brigade of Colombian National Army, in coordination with the National Police, reported the arrest by judicial order of a ringleader of the Ferney Antonio López Polo Substructure of the Organized Armed Group (GAO) Clan del Golfo, who was wanted for the crimes of homicide and association to commit aggravated crimes.
The arrest was carried out thanks to the coordinated work conducted by the authorities, enabling an arrest warrant to be effective against this individual, who in the same way reports an INTERPOL Blue Notice for his criminal activities.
According to the investigations, apparently this individual initiated his criminal acts in the defunct United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia (AUC), integrating the Central Bolivar Bloc. after the process of surrender of that organization, he continued to carry out criminal activities independently and, in 2021, joined the GAO Clan del Golfo, where he began as an intelligence point in the municipality of Gamarra, department of Cesar.
Subsequently, he gained positions within the illicit structure as a hitman and, by 2025, became the head of area of hitmen of the Ferney Antonio López Polo Substructure, exercising criminal interference mainly in the municipalities of Aguachica, Gamarra and La Gloria, as well as in San Martín and San Alberto, in the department of Cesar.
Through this arrest, the criminal capacity of this substructure of the GAO, Clan del Golfo is significantly affected, by neutralizing one of its main coordinators of violent acts and strengthening the security conditions for the inhabitants of the south of the department of Cesar.
Colombian National Army will continue to carry out coordinated and inter-institutional operations to counter the acts of organized armed groups and reiterates its commitment to the protection of the inhabitants and the preservation of tranquility in this region of the country.
