The in-depth operation, whose results are 12 blows against the illegal armed structure, was carried out with the purpose of safeguarding the inhabitants.
Following the early warning 019 of 2023, which identified risks and human rights violations in the region, accompanied by the denunciations and military intelligence work that pointed out the activity of the Hernando Gonz谩lez Acosta Group in the rural area of the municipality of La Plata, it was evident that this Structure was carrying out criminal activities such as extortion, recruitment of minors and the planning of operations against the Military Forces and the inhabitants. In response to this threat, the Ninth Brigade, through the Pigoanza Battalion, implemented measures to protect people and counter the operations of this criminal organization.
During the operation, there was a firefight in the village of El Porvenir, which resulted in the death of two alleged members of this illegal armed structure. In addition, it was possible to arrest four individuals (one of them injured), and six minors were recovered, three of them in the same way with injuries.
Immediately, the units intervened to provide first aid to the injured people, acting with full respect for human rights and in strict compliance with the norms of international humanitarian law, in order to safeguard the minors, victims of forced recruitment.
In the same way, as a result of the criminal operation of the Hernando Gonz谩lez Acosta Structure, a 13-year-old minor, a resident of the area, was injured by this structure. She was immediately provided with emergency care, and accompanied by her mother, she was taken by air to the hospital of the municipality of La Plata, to receive medical assistance.
After the clashes, the units found eleven rifles and abundant war material, military accessories and communications.
Immediately, in coordination with the Aviation Mobility and Maneuver Battalion No. 5, CACOM4, of the Colombian Aerospace Force, the evacuation of the people and the material found was carried out, and, with the judicial support of the Sij铆n, of the Metropolitan Police of Neiva, the urgent acts were carried out.
In the same way, the Ombudsman's Office was accompanied in the human rights works, informing the Colombian Family Wellbeing Institute (ICBF) for the restoration of the rights of children victims of the conflict.
The operations of the illegal armed structure constitute a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, so it will be reported to the authorities so that the corresponding investigations can be carried out.
