With this result, the Colombian Navy exceeds 120 tons of cocaine hydrochloride found in 2021.
In four military operations carried out by the authorities of Panama and the United States with information provided by the Colombian Navy, it was possible to find 3,247 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, equivalent to more than eight million doses of narcotics that had left the coasts of the Colombian Caribbean to Central America.
The first two results occurred in Panama, 18 nautical miles north of the municipality Nombre de Dios, Santa Isabel – Colón district, and 29 nautical miles north of El Porvenir Island – San Blas archipelago, where air, Coast Guard and surface units of the National Air and Naval Service of Panama (SENAN), guided by Colombian naval intelligence information, intercept suspicious ships.
One of them, called the La Grandeza de Dios, was manned by three Colombians, who carried 1,537 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride. Of the second boat, called the La Bendicion de Dios, it was known that apparently inside it carried approximately 500 kilograms of drugs, however it was only possible to recover 58 kilograms, because during the pursuit, a fire was generated on board the boat, which caused the loss of the material it was carrying.
In addition, two other operations were carried out by U.S. Coast Guard and surface units, who, thanks to intelligence information of the Colombian navy, detect two go Fast boats, one carrying 510 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride and the second carrying 700 kilograms of this same narcotic. In total, the authorities recovered 610 kilograms, because the second ship was shipwrecked with part of the illegal merchandise.
Those arrested and the material found were put into custody of the authorities, managing to prevent the trafficking and consumption of more than 8,512,500 doses of the narcotic, as well as the entry into the financial structures of the drug trafficking organizations of more than 110 million dollars from illegal marketing.
