In recent hours, soldiers of the Fifth Brigade of the Second Division of the National Army, in joint, coordinated and Interagency military operations, make important arrests, which strengthens security in the Magdalena Medio region in the department of Santander.
In the first action, it was possible to arrest a man in the Special District of Barrancabermeja, Santander, required for the crime of trafficking, carrying or possessing firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition. The individual would apparently be part of a common criminality group that commits crimes in the city, perpetrates theft, microtrafficking and extortion of merchants. A collective passenger transport vehicle was confiscated, it was apparently used in the crimes of this illegal group; a 38 millimeter caliber revolver with ammunition and a nine millimeter caliber pistol, with supplier and cartridges were also confiscated.
On the other hand, in the municipality of Yondó, Antioquia, it was possible to arrest another man, in flagrante delicto, for the crime of manufacturing, trafficking and carrying drugs, personal injury and one more for theft. In San Pablo, south of Bolívar, two men and one woman were arrested, carrying in their vehicle more than 6,200 grams of cocaine hydrochloride and a pistol, with a magazine and cartridges.
All those arrested were put into custody of the judicial authority to continue their proceedings for their crimes.
With this, the soldiers of the Fifth Brigade guarantee the permanent military operations that can improve the perception of security and tranquility for all the families of the region.
