Timely information and road checks led to find a vehicle with the narcotic.
Soldiers of Infantry Battalion No.41 of the Fifth Brigade, of the Second Division, in coordination with the National Police, thanks to information provided by the citizen participation network, arrest an individual. He was driving a truck-type vehicle that contained 682 kilograms of creepy-type marijuana.
The incident was reported in the municipality of San Pedro de la Paz, in Cimitarra, in the department of Santander, where the vehicle was covering the Cali - Santa Marta route. 23 boxes were found by troops with several packages wrapped in brown plastic tape, which contained the hallucinogen inside.
This process takes more than a year of follow-up, in support of the judicial authorities, and has led to the beating of the Iván Arboleda Garcés substructure, of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, which apparently controls this route to transport narcotics from the department of Cauca to the northern coast of Colombia, via the Ruta del Sol. This year it was possible to find more than two tons of marijuana in this region of the country.
With this result, the criminal operations of organized armed groups that attack the security and health of the inhabitants, mainly young people who are the most beaten with the consumption of these substances, are neutralized.
