Blow dealt to drug trafficking in eastern Antioquia: National Army finds 80 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride

Golpe al narcotráfico en el oriente antioqueño: Ejército Nacional incauta 80 kilogramos de clorhidrato de cocaína

In 2025, the Fourth Brigade has added the finding of more than 4,900 kilos of cocaine hydrochloride in the department of Antioquia.

In the framework of military operations against drug trafficking, the Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Oriente Military Group, or the Fourth Brigade, with the Specialized Group Against Drug Trafficking of the CTI, reported the finding of a temporary illegal drug hideout in the rural area of the municipality of Cocorná, in the east of Antioquia.

Thanks to intelligence work, it was possible to find the illegal elements. At the scene of the events, approximately 80 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride were found by troops, which were ready to be transported and subsequently traded to the United States, Europe and Central America.

Through this result of the military operation, a significant loss to the finances of the illegal armed groups was possible, estimated at approximately 1,000 million pesos, directly weakening their illicit activities and their criminal capacity.
