The others captures would be alleged urban members of this organization.
Soldiers of the Fifth Brigade through the Field Artillery Battalion No.2 of the Fifth Brigade, of the Second Division of the National Army, in coordination with the Sijin (judicial police) of Magdalena Medio region, capture six alleged members of the organized armed group, Gao, Clan del Golfo, in Bucaramanga, Barrancabermeja and Puerto Wilches, in Santander, Bogot谩 and Acac铆as, Meta.
Among those captured there is alias Tercero, apparently head of the substructure Luis Alfonso Echavarr铆a, with 13 years in the organization and in charge of generating economic resources for the organization through microtrafficking.
For his part, alias El Secre, would be the second ringleader of this same substructure and head of security of the ringleader, who with 10 years in the organization would be in charge of carrying out the accounts of the illicit money collected by the organization from its illegal activities.
The other individuals are known by the aliases Mart铆n El铆as and alias Camilo Torres, members of the security group of the head of the substructure and fundamental parts for the collection of money of the sale of narcotics. Alias El Indio, with 10 years in the organization, in charge of coordinating with Organized Crime Groups, GDO, for the distribution of the microtrafficking and extortion against micro-entrepreneurs and alias Torito, an alleged ringleader of rural municipalities of Simit铆, San Pablo, and Cantagallo, Bolivar, apparently, was the one in charge of the forced displacement in the region of Magdalena Medio.
Alias Tercero, alias El Secre and alias Indio, who have records for the crimes of scam, theft and extortion, are alleged members of the GAO Clan del Golfo, and would be responsible for coordinating targeted homicides, money collection from extortions and drug trafficking in the municipalities of San Pablo and Cantagallo, Bol铆var, Puerto Wilches, Santander and Puerto Berr铆o, Antioquia.
Those captured shall face charges for the offences of association to commit aggravated offences for the purposes of murder, extortion, manufacture, trafficking, carrying or possession of firearms and/or ammunition and trafficking, manufacture and carrying of narcotics.
With these captures a significant blow is dealt against the GAO Clan del Golfo that commits crimes in this region of the Magdalena Medio, weakening its structure, financial capacity, mass movement and displacement, neutralizing the criminal operation of this illegal organization that attacks against the security and good physical condition of the families of this important area of the country, that is why the soldiers of the National Army, through the execution of constant military operations work to find and bring to justice the members of these illegal armed groups.
