Within the framework of military operations aimed at weakening illicit activities, troops of the Combat Engineer Battalion No. 7 of the Seventh Brigade, in coordination with the Sijin of the National Police, reported the arrest of two alleged members of the organized crime group La Cacica, criminal structure with interference in the municipality of Cabuyaro, Meta department.
The operation carried out in Cabuyaro was the result of intelligence work that led to the identification and finding of these individuals, allegedly specialized in local narcotics trafficking. Those arrested, known as alias Chulo and alias Galindo, would be responsible for activities associated with the distribution of illicit substances in this area of the department.
During the procedure, 3000 grams of marijuana, 20 grams of cocaine, 11 capsules for dosage, $341,000 in cash, 2 rudimentary machines for production, 2 packages of waxed paper, 2 digital precision scales, 30 hermetically sealed bags, a cell phone and 2 choppers used for the production of narcotics were found by troops. This material represents a significant blow to the illegal activities that finance the activities of the GDO La Cacica.
Those arrested and the material found were put into custody of the authorities for their respective prosecution.
Through this result, Colombian National Army reaffirms its commitment to the security, coexistence and tranquility of the inhabitants of the department of Meta, and will continue to carry out joint, coordinated and interagency operations to dismantle the criminal structures that hit the inhabitants.
