Within the framework of the Ayacucho Plus Operations Plan, troops of Colombian National Army, the Colombian Navy and the Colombian Aerospace Force, with the support of the National Police, carried out a military operation of air-to-ground interception and direct assault against members of the Jhon Fredy Orjuela Substructure of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, in a rural area of the municipality of Nuquí.
As a result of this powerful action, nine members of this criminal structure were eliminated in the framework of military operations.
In the same way, the troops seized nine long weapons, magazines of different calibers, communications elements and abundant elements of military accessories used by this illicit organization for its criminal activities.
This operation represents a significant loss to the armed and logistical resources of the Jhon Fredy Orjuela Substructure, weakening its operational capacity, as well as its terrorist acts on the Colombian Pacific coast.
In the same way, this operation contributes to reducing the armed clashes with the structures of the GAO Clan del Golfo with the Organized Armed Group ELN, particularly with the Ernesto Che Guevara Front, in the department of Chocó, strengthening the conditions of security and institutional presence in this strategic territory of the Colombian Pacific coast.
