Binational Development Support Activity carried out by the Military Forces of Colombia and Peru
Thanks to an inter-institutional effort of the State, in Tarapac谩, Amazonas, more than 1,000 inhabitants of the indigenous communities of Cinceta, Huitoto, Bora, Ticuna, Engan贸 and Cocama, benefited from a Binational Development Support Activity that provided them with medical care in different specialties, recreation for children, adolescents and counseling, among other activities.
This activity was conducted thanks to the work in international cooperation conducted by the nations of Colombia and Peru; with the work of the Colombian Military Forces, through the Air Force, the National Navy and the National Army with its Sixth Division, the 26th Brigade, the 50th Infantry Battalion and the Support Command for Comprehensive Action and Development, in coordination with institutions such as the Foundation Fuerza Colombia, l鈥橴niversidad del Bosque and the Catholic Church, with Nuestra Se帽ora del Carmen Parish.
During the two days of this activity, the border communities enjoyed assistance in specialties such as general medicine, dentistry, gynecology, pediatrics, nutrition, speech therapy, psychology and nursing, legal advice, services of the National Registry and training with SENA on environment care, among others. In addition, children and youth spent a weekend full of fun and healthy recreation, thanks to the recreational activities conducted by men of the National Army and the National Navy.
For his part, Carmelo Tamane Lozano, in the Ventura indigenous community, said: "I am very grateful for this activity they did in the municipality of Tarapaca, for having assisted me in dentistry and general medicine. I feel really grateful. We want this to be done every year and never forget this municipality of the Amazonas. "
