These people are allegedly involved in selective homicides and the control of microtrafficking in the municipalities of Bosconia and El Copey.
Within the framework of the Ayacucho plan, soldiers of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the department of Cesar, a unit attached to the Tenth Brigade of the First Division of Colombian National Army, in coordination with the National Police, arrested eight people by judicial order and two more by notification in a penitentiary center, who allegedly belonged to the Francisco José Mórelo Peñate Substructure, of the GAO Clan del Golfo.
Those arrested would be implicated in selective homicides, forced displacements, microtrafficking control and extortions on the municipalities of Bosconia and Copey, in the department of Cesar.
These individuals would be responsible for carrying out the so called "social cleansing", using the modality of the hired gun, in addition to being in charge of housing the armed components of the GAO Clan del Golfo that commit crimes in these municipalities.
In the operation, a revolver, a pistol, three cell phones, a notebook with information of the GAO Clan del Golfo, a laptop, two microdrive cameras, eight hard drives and a CPU were seized.
Those arrested were put into custody of the authorities, who will be in charge of continuing with due process.
Colombian National Army, through the Military Gaula, will continue to carry out tasks that led dismantling the organized armed groups that commit crimes in the region. Similarly, the inhabitants are urged to have in mind the Military Gaula line 147 to report crimes such as extortion and kidnapping.
