Thanks to intelligence information provided by the Amazon Fusion Center of the Colombian Navy, the Brazilian Federal Police reported the finding of 1,397 kilograms of cripy-type marijuana and 40 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, which were being transported in two boats on the Uneiuxi River, in the municipality of Santa Isabel do Río Negro, in Brazil.
The crew members of the suspicious boats, noticing the activity of the authorities, abandoned the aluminum boats with outboard motors, leaving the illicit cargo inside. The material was taken to the city of Manaus, Brazil, where it was put into custody of the Judicial Police of that country.
According to intelligence information, this shipment, which would cost more than ten million dollars, would belong to Brazilian drug trafficking organizations, which have the intention of strengthening their illegal finances through transnational drug trafficking.
Through this operation, it was possible to significantly hit the criminal activities of the drug trafficking structures that commit crimes in the region, denying the use of the Amazonas rivers as strategic routes.
