It is presumed that this material would be used to attack the inhabitants and the Military Forces.
As part of military search and control operations in the Special District of Buenaventura, Valle del Cauca department, the Colombian Navy seized war materiel, military accessories and communications, which was being hidden in an illegal hideout, apparently belonging to the Residual Organized Armed Group – GAO-r Jaime Martínez.
The operation took place in the Bajo Calima region, rural area of Buenaventura, where units of the Navy Infantry Brigade No. 2 found this hideout, which contained three 5.56-millimeter caliber magazines, 86 cartridges of the same caliber, an improvised explosive device and two telecommunications equipment allegedly used to coordinate criminal operations.
The material found was put into custody of the Attorney General's Office, to conduct the corresponding procedures.
