Two minors were recovered during the procedure.
According to preliminary information, the individuals aged 27, 34 and 36, had been linked to this armed group two and six years ago respectively.
In the framework of the operation against crime in the department of Valle del Cauca, the Colombian Navy in the framework of joint operations with Colombian National Army, reported the surrender to justice of two men and one woman members of the Alex Guerrero column of the Residual Organized Armed Group – GAO-r, Structure 6, Jaime Martínez, in addition, the recovery of two minors and the confiscation of war items.
The event was reported in the Yurumanguí River, a rural area of the municipality of Buenaventura (Valle del Cauca), where the three members voluntarily introduced themselves to the members of the Military Forces in the area, expressing the intention to leave the criminal organization to take advantage of the route of surrender to justice, provided by the National Government.
The three individuals in the same way handed over seven rifles, two pistols, an improvised explosive device, 31 magazines and 1,440 cartridges of different calibers. As well as communication equipment, elements of military accessories and garments for the exclusive use of the Military Forces, which were put into custody of the authority to carry out the corresponding legal procedures.
After verifying the state of health, the three individuals and the two minors were taken to a safe port, where contact was established with the Humanitarian Assistance Group for the Demobilized (GAHD), to begin their process of reintegration into civilian life.
For their part, the minors were put into custody of the authorities, who are working to fully restore their rights in accordance with current regulations.
