In a work coordinated with the Risk Management of the department of Cundinamarca, National Army, Civil Defense and the volunteer Fire Department. The Colombian Air Force has conducted 46 water dumps and retardant liquid since February 1 of this year, in more than 16 hours of operation.

The timely intervention of the crews of the Bell-212 and HUEY II aircraft of the CACOM-4, have prevented the fire from reaching inhabited areas, managed to spray 18,000 gallons of water and retardant liquids over the flames that have exceeded two meters in height and have consumed 100 hectares of vegetation.

For today, the operations will continue in the Flandes airfield, with a crew of the Bell-212 helicopter of CACOM4.
