In an important joint and coordinated operation conducted by the Colombian Air Force, the National Army and the National Police, an area of exploitation of illicit mining deposits belonging to the Organized Gang - GDO- Clan del Oriente, in the rural village Roque, in the municipality of Norcasia, Caldas, was dismantled.
This outlaw group extracted approximately 450 grams of gold daily in the place; this operation hits the illicit economy of this GDO, Clan del Oriente, by more than 578 million pesos.
In the mission, the Military Forces seized a backhoe loader, 11 motor pumps, an power generator, 100 meters of electrical wiring, 30 handcrafted gutters, 8,400 meters of six-inch hose, among other types of materials that serve to carry out this crime, which attacks against the conservation of the environment, destroying 65 hectares of forest, polluting the Samaná River and harming families in the municipalities of Samaná, Norcasia and La Dorada.
