This individual would be responsible for carrying out criminal operations against the inhabitants and companies of the north of Cauca.
The sustained operation in favor of the security of the Cauca inhabitants led to the arrest of alias Choni o Pito, alleged member of the Residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Dagoberto Ramos Ortiz. The military operation carried out by the National Army in coordination with the Colombian Air Force was carried out in the village El Palo, municipality of Caloto, in the north of Cauca.
Alias Choni or Pito, according to the authorities, would be in charge of coordinating and carrying out criminal operations, such as the theft of vehicles and machinery and theft of people with the purpose of intimidating the inhabitants and the companies that carry out their activities in the municipalities of Miranda, Padilla, Villarrica, Guachené and Santander de Quilinchao.
At the time of the arrest, this individual was in possession of an explosive device and garments for the exclusive use of the Military Forces. Along with these elements, a motorcycle was immobilized.
The individual and the materials were put into custody of the regional authority, in order to continue to conduct the respective prosecution process.
