In the frame of the military and police campaign Esparta, troops of the Vulcano Task Force in a coordinated and interagency manner with the National Police and the Attorney General's Office of the nation, achieved in recent days in the rural area of Tibú - Norte de Santander, the capture of alias “Cepillo”, presumed finances leader of the organized armed group GAO-Eln, Front Luis Enrique León Guerra, as well as the apprehension of two other individuals known as “Lupe” and “ Chichara”, who would in the same way be part of this criminal organization.
The operation is carried out in La Gabarra, municipality of Tibú, where the soldiers of the Artillery Battalion n. 30 "Batalla de Cúcuta", carried out with the support of the military intelligence the capture of these three individuals.
According to the investigations, “Cepillo” allegedly was four years inside the GAO-Eln, where he began his criminal activity as a member of the terrorism support networks, then he begins his relations with the production and marketing of coca base paste in the municipality of Tibú.
At present this individual was carrying out, together with alias “Lupe” and “Chichara”, the alleged collection of money obtained by extortion against merchants and Guilds of the Department of Norte de Santander. At the time of their capture the men had in their possession coca base paste, a short range weapon, two magazines and 30 cartridges.
