Operations carried out by Colombian Navy Units in the South Pacific of Nariño, result in the capture of the individual alias “Chachi”, second ringleader of the Terrorism Support Network, at the service of the Organized Residual Armed Group, Structure 30, Rafael Aguilera, who commits crimes in the department of Nariño.

With search warrant, troops of the Marine Infantry Battalion No.15, attached to the Joint Task Force for Stabilization and Consolidation Hércules, and members of the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Prosecutor's Office, entered a house in the urban area of the El Charco municipality, where the individual known as alias Chachi he was captured.

During the search, two 9 mm pistols, two hand grenades, a 12 mm shotgun, a bulletproof vest, cartridges and magazines of different calibers were found inside the building.

Alias Chachi, 28, was in charge of controlling the routes used for drug trafficking in the rural area of the Tapaje River and its mouth in the Pacific Ocean. In the same way, this individual is accused of participating in the terrorist attack that occurred on January 17, 2020, in which individuals launched explosive devices and subsequently shot at the Police Station and the Navy infantry River Station in El Charco.

This capture strategically counteracts the plans of the residual Organized Armed Group E-30 Rafael Aguilera, to use river routes to continue committing crimes with narcotics trafficking to Central American countries. In the same way, the risk of terrorist operations against the Human Rights of the people on the Pacific coast of Nariño reduces.
