A joint operation conducted by the Colombian Air Force, the National Army, in coordination with the National Police and the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Prosecutor General of the Nation, this week it was possible the capture of alias Carlos El Costeño, alleged ringleader of the Front of Edgar Amilkar Grimaldo Baron of the Organised Armed Group, GAO, ELN of the War Front Darío Ramírez Castro. Four other members were captured; a minor was recovered in the village Santo Domingo, in the municipality of San Pablo, in the south of the department of Bolívar.
During the operation troops found two hand grenades, an improvised explosive device and ammunition caliber 7.62 millimeters.
With the capture of this ringleader it is possible to directly hit the command and control of this front, which had been perpetrating crimes in the municipalities of Cantagallo, San Pablo (south of Bolivar), Yondó, Remedios and Segovia (Antioquia).
This individual was in charge of carrying out terrorist operations against the Military Forces and civilians, in addition to exercising control of illicit activities such as drug trafficking, collection of money from extortions and illegal mining in all his area of interference.
